Privacy
How Larkabout handles your information. Last updated 27 October 2026.
Larkabout (including Out On Tap) is run by Reply Intelligence Group, the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: hello@outontap.com.
What we collect
- Venue and organiser accounts: your name and email address, and a password stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider.
- Venue claims: your name, role, work email and phone number, so we can check you run the venue.
- Event submissions: the event details you send, linked to your account.
- Alerts and newsletters: your email address, the town and the categories you choose.
- Site usage: searches made and which venue links are clicked, without names or email addresses, to improve results.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, your session is kept in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. If you choose a town, or use "Use my location", we keep the name of that town in one cookie (lr_place) for a year so listings show what's near you. Your exact location never leaves your device: only the nearest town is stored. Site analytics are cookieless.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- Accounts, claims and submissions: to provide the service you asked for (contract).
- Checking claims and preventing misuse: our legitimate interest in keeping listings accurate.
- Alerts and newsletters: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase (database and sign-in), hosted in London.
- Vercel (website hosting).
- Resend (sending account and claim emails).
- AI services via Vercel AI Gateway, used to read venues' own public web pages for opening hours and events. We don't send your personal data to them.
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, it does so under UK-approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Accounts and claims: while your account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closure.
- Rejected claims: 12 months, then deleted.
- Alert sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Search and click logs: 24 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email hello@outontap.com. If you're not happy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Where venue information comes from
Venue names, addresses and contact details come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, Open Database Licence), the Food Standards Agency food hygiene register (Open Government Licence), venues' own websites, and venue owners. If something about your venue is wrong, claim it or email hello@outontap.com.
